Morgan Stanley: The Federal Reserve Is Unlikely to Cut Rates in the Near Term

Market expectations for a rate cut in July have risen from 8% to 20%, while the probability for a September cut has increased from 60% to 90%. However, the analysts noted that most Fed officials support Powell’s cautious stance and are unlikely to back a rate cut soon. The analysts expect the upcoming employment report to be relatively robust; although job growth may slow, there are no signs of cracks that would prompt the Fed to accelerate its actions.

EU: Digital Legislation Not Included in Trade Talks with the US
According to Jinse Finance, European Commission spokesperson Thomas Reyner emphasized on the 30th that the EU's Digital Markets Act and Digital Services Act are not part of the trade negotiations between the EU and the United States. The US has repeatedly accused the EU's digital legislation of being "unfair" and has called for the EU to ease its regulations on American tech giants. In April this year, the European Commission determined that Apple and Meta Platforms had violated the EU's Digital Markets Act and imposed hefty fines on both companies. Maroš Šefčovič, the European Commissioner responsible for trade and economic security, stated that he will travel to Washington, D.C. before July 1 to meet with US trade officials and continue to push for a trade agreement between the two sides.
