OpenAI poaches four senior engineers from Tesla, xAI, and Meta
According to ChainCatcher, Wired reports that artificial intelligence research company OpenAI has recruited four senior engineers from competitors Tesla, xAI, and Meta to join its expanding team. The new hires include David Lau, former Vice President of Software Engineering at Tesla; Uday Ruddarraju, former Head of Infrastructure Engineering at xAI; Mike Dalton, Infrastructure Engineer at xAI; and Angela Fan, AI Researcher at Meta.
OpenAI spokesperson Hannah Wong stated, “We are excited to welcome these new members to our expanding team. Our approach is to continue building and bringing together world-class infrastructure, research, and product teams to accelerate our mission and bring the benefits of AI to hundreds of millions of people.” The addition of these new employees comes at a time when competition for talent and resources among major players in the AI field is becoming increasingly intense.
