Deadline for Reciprocal Tariff Suspension Approaching Besent: The Next 72 Hours Will Be Extremely Busy

According to a report by Jinse Finance, as the deadline for the suspension of reciprocal tariffs in the United States approaches, U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent stated on Sunday that the next 72 hours will be extremely busy. Bessent mentioned that several major agreements are close to being finalized, and important announcements will be made in the coming days. He indicated that if countries receiving the tariff letters fail to reach an agreement, their exported goods will once again face the same tariff rates as in April, starting from August 1. For weeks, Trump administration officials have been claiming that multiple agreements are imminent, but so far, only a limited framework agreement with the UK, a small trade deal with India, and a brief outline of an agreement with Vietnam by Trump have been announced. The latest statements from Trump and Bessent suggest that, with just three days left before the deadline, negotiations remain uncertain and reaching agreements is no easy task.
